Are you looking to get into running but don't know where to begin? Or new to the area and want to find new friends and run groups to keep your wheels moving? There are run clubs every where that cater for everyone.

Below is a list of run clubs and groups we know through our own connections and that of others. Reach out to them direct to find out more.

RUN CLUBS

Meeting every Saturday 6am right here at the Run Vault Shop (or RVHQ) we take off for a social 60 minute jog taking in the sights of the river city. Followed up with breakfast at a local cafe, usually Percolate in East Brisbane.

The Mountain Goat Trail Runners (MGTR) are a social & welcoming club that caters for anyone who likes to run on the trails.

You don’t need to be a fast or an experienced trail runner to join them. At MGTR they are about bringing like minded people together in a supportive community environment to run trails and have a fun time doing it.

The main run group meets 6:45pm every Wednesday night on trails in Brisbane for a 7pm sharp kick off. The meet point varies but generally is at Mt Coot-Tha.

What - 60-75min trail run/jog through Mt Coot-Tha

When - 6:45pm for 7pm sharp kick off every Wednesday night

Where - Generally JC Slaughter Falls but location around the mountain can vary

What to bring - Headlamp, hydration, small amount of money if you wish to have a beer with the crew after the run. Trail shoes are recommended.

The FitazFK run program is developed and run by Run Vault Performance Head Coach Jamie Hunter. It's a 4 week program on rotation that takes you through 3 weeks of interval based training and 1 week of hill based training.

You'll work on strength and power, Vo2Max efforts and Threshold efforts as well incline and decline training. You'll also gain insights into form, training principles and guidance relating to best approaches towards training and racing.

This is a free program available and accessible to everyone!

What - 45-60min structured interval or hill session

When - 5:20am for 5:30am sharp kick off every Thursday morning

Where - Meet at FitazFK gym under the Story Bridge in Kangaroo Point before running around the river city

What to bring: Yourself! We usually finish with coffee and breakfast at the Story Bridge Hotel

Run by Katie Dall, Club KT is a community inspired run and strength club predominately located in Newstead.

The Friday morning complimentary community run is a popular choice for new and experienced runners of all abilities. It's a 45min run starting in Newstead and tracks along the river so you can take in spectacular sunrises on the horizon.

Use the 45min to shakeout the legs before the weekend with an easy jog, or mix it up with some tempo and fun with your friends, it's your choice!

Stick around after the run for coffee and breakfast at The Woolshed in Helen Street Newstead.

Where - Meet in the open area near Waterfront Park on Skyring Terrace, Newstead (located here)

What to bring: Yourself! We usually finish with coffee and breakfast at The Woolshed in Helen Street Newstead.

Run by a couple of mates Macca and Dimitri, Got the Runs is a Brisbane based run club meeting every Sunday at a new location each week for a 15 minutes out and back trot with coffee after at a local cafe. They also have mid week night runs at different locations throughout the city supporting local business.

What - 30min out and back run, pace and structure on your terms

When - 6:45am for a 7am kick off every Sunday morning

Where - Location varies each week

What to bring: Yourself! Plus any payment options for breakfast afterwards at the local cafe

They also host Tuesday night runs at local businesses including a Run Vault Shop Run the first Tuesday of each month.

Running Budies are a social running group based on the southside of Brisbane, Queensland. All of their runs are free to attend and everyone is welcome!

They have regular runs on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday mornings. Many of their members also organise adhoc runs to support their training plans for various upcoming races. All of their runs, announcements and social events are posted on their FACEBOOK PAGE so make sure you regularly check the page to see what’s on.

Don’t be shy, everyone is welcome! Whether you are after a social run or training for your first big race, their friendly group of runners will support you. Running is always more fun when you have Running Buddies!

How it Works: All runs will leave and start at the advertised time. All runs are in public open spaces, and are free to attend. If you would like to organise a run or find a running buddy to join you on a run simply post it on the page and invite others to join you.
